Armed Forces Day 25th June 2011
The RAF's Red Arrows staged a spectacular display over the Firth of Forth on Friday night as the capital became the official host city of the third Armed Forces Day.
Charles and wife Camilla watched the main parade of 2500 military personnel, veterans and cadets making their way from the castle esplanade to Holyrood Park.
Proud five-year-old Ben Harrison, from Livingston, West Lothian, donned his army fatigues to watch paratrooper dad Corporal Robert Harrison march down the Royal Mile.
Ben said: "I think it's really good. I saw my daddy too."
Ben's mum Melanie Harrison, 31, said: "It's been a wonderful day. They've pulled out all the stops. "My husband was in Afghanistan from last October through to April this year. It's great that so many people have turned out to show their appreciation."
